Pete’s love of music began early in life first with his introduction to piano, then taking up trombone in grade school. By the age of 15, he had developed a true passion for music. In high school, being chosen twice for All State band, and receiving a scholarship to International Music Camp provided further inspiration to pursue a musical career.

He picked up the bass as a senior in high school and immediately fell in love with the instrument. Drawn to performance and the stage, he also realized that this instrument would provide better opportunity than continuing on trombone.

He left his hometown of Bismarck, North Dakota at age 19 to work with a traveling show band, playing at upscale resorts all over the country. While working a few weeks in Texas at that time, he fell in love with the climate and the people and eventually decided to make it home.

Throughout most of the 80’s he was a member of The Roy Clayton Band – a very well respected country rock group in the DFW area, staying extremely busy working 5-7 nights a week as well as pursuing recording contracts. This group finally decided to pursue other opportunities, disbanding after nine successful and fulfilling years.

The remainder of the 80’s and early 90’s was spent with Showdown, an award winning group he helped form, which included Richie McDonald (lead singer of Lonestar) and drummer Greg Stocki (Marty Stuart, Laurie Morgan, Tracy Lawrence, Bellamy Brothers).

Later in the 90’s Pete joined a group called Dreamer – one of the most sought after specialty market acts in the country. He almost immediately assumed a leadership role in this group and produced four albums, with total sales of over 100,000 copies. Racking up a ton of frequent flyer miles, he had the honor to share the stage and hang out with a number of musical greats including The Temptations, Gladys Knight, The Beach Boys, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, and Garth Brooks.

Pete is currently gigging mostly locally in the DFW area doing around 200 live dates a year. Many of those are private events with the outstanding bandleader Trey Gunter. He is also freelancing with various artists, live and in the studio, covering all styles of music. As a writer and producer of music, much of his time now is spent helping other artists and songwriters get their music documented/recorded and heard. He is commissioned on occasion to write custom music, instrumental or lyrical, for particular organizations or special occasions.
